Overview:  The hotel is located on the beautiful Pichola Lake.  On arrival they often take you to the hotel by way of a boat, particularly in you come in after dark. The lake with the temple of Jag Nivas, the Grand Palace and the Lake Palace Taj Hotel beautifully lit up, reflecting in the water and the temple that is on the mountain that appears to be floating in the air - is it pure magic, it is like Disneyland but it is real.  Arrival here is stunning as you head into the courtyard before you reach the foyer it is overwhelming. This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen and my favorite in the Oberoi collection.

The public areas. The foyer and public rooms are lavish and beautifully decorated. The out door eating area pictured below was magical at night, with a view of the lake, torches burning, and the performers dancing during dinner. Breakfast was outstanding with a great variety of cold foods and bakery items and a wonderful hot breakfast menu.   The hotel features may different areas it is very large and the shop has some exquisite articles. There is a main swimming pool with more deck chairs than could ever be filled.  Spending time at this fantastic hotel is a must. There is a lot to see in Udaipur but the hotel is a destination of its own.  This is truly a special place!!!

The bedrooms:  The rooms are large with a sitting room area, a kingsize comfortable bed with amoire with a television,
a small window seat that looks out to the beautiful grounds. Our room also had an outside patio off the bathroom area. The bathroom featured a make up area with plugs that would take American appliances. There was internet access in the rooms.
