The Maharaja Palace Hotel UDAIPUR The TAJ LAKE PALACE

Overview:  The Lake Palace is an exquisite white marble palace that seems to float on the still waters of Lake Pichola. Originally built as a summer palace, Taj Lake Palace has recently been transformed to its former glory whose sole purpose is the pursuit of leisure. You must arrive at the hotel by boat as it is located on the water. The hotel has a center courtyard filled with gardens and water. The palace is 250 years old.

The public areas. The foyer is small but elegant and the hotel features lounge and bar areas that are very comfortable. The main dining room features Indian cuisine and there is a casual restaurant that features a variety of western foods. It can be arranged for you to have dinner on a floating dock as picture below.  Groups can also have dinner on the barge that is shown in front of the hotel on the picture above. The most appealing area of the hotel is the center garden courtyard with birds, flowers and trees.  The Royal Spa is available with many different therapies to pamper you in royal style.

The bedrooms:   All the rooms feature all the amenities you would expect in a world class hotel. The 83 rooms that have been divided into standard rooms, deluxe lake facing rooms, luxury rooms, royal suites and grand royal suites. All the rooms and suites at the hotel have colored murals, opulent silks and carved wooden furniture as an integral part of their design with plenty of space and wonderful modern marble bathrooms.  Some of the larger suites are spectacular.
