Overview: The hotel is located 30 minutes from the airport in the new upscale area of New Delhi on the Janpath and very close to the renowned shopping district. As soon as you enter the foyer you know it is something special. The pictures of the unique flowered stands in the foyer above cannot do justice to these stunning floral masterpieces. The hotel is large with exquisite public areas and a huge variety of rooms with some of the most incredible large suites I have ever seen. Even the standard rooms are spacious and comfortable. There are some good hotels in New Delhi but this is definitely "the" place to stay when visiting New Delhi.
The public areas. The bars, lounges and restaurants are beautifully and tastefully decorated. This is a large hotel featuring many different lounges and restaurants. The cuisine offered is varied and features, Indian, French, Italian and three alfresco dining venues. The chocolate afternoon tea was one I will never forget. The spa incorporates an area of 2500 square meters and eleven treatment rooms and an exclusive Ayurvedic center. Of course the hotel features a state of the art gym. It has been said this is the museum hotel as the Imperial houses some of the rarest works of art from the British period. Each floor is dedicated to an artist whose original works adorn the walls of the rooms and corridors.
The bedrooms: There are 234 rooms in the Imperial that offer many different suites and standard rooms. All rooms have a view, wireless internet, TV, privacy safe and all the amenities you would expect in a five star hotel. There are many types of large suites that offer the ultimate in space and luxury. Even the regular room are very comfortable accommodations. Note the picture of the hallway to the rooms, they are very wide and feature original art work from the artist that is featured for that floor.
